Where It All Began
My pickleball journey started in January 2025.
Coming from a high-level tennis background, I was no stranger to racquet sports, but pickleball was completely new to me. It didn't take long before I fell in love with the game, the competition and the community surrounding it.
Only a short time after picking up a paddle for the first time, I was lucky enough to be selected for Season 3 of the National Pickleball League (NPL) as the final female player picked, before I even had a DUPR rating.

What followed was a dream start to my pickleball career.
I went on to win two National Pickleball League titles, most recently as captain of the QLD Opals. I also won an MLP round with the Brisbane Breakers, reached a 5.2+ DUPR in both singles and doubles and achieved many great results along the way.
But beyond the results, pickleball gave me the opportunity to travel across Australia and New Zealand, competing at many different venues. Along the way, I’ve met so many incredible people, built lasting friendships and created memories that I’ll always be grateful for.
Throughout our travels, my partner Jake and I kept noticing the same thing.
The Idea Behind Choice
Pickleball was growing incredibly fast across Australia and New Zealand and we believed it was only going to get bigger.
There were more players, more venues and more paddles to choose from than ever before. But when it came to accessories to personalise your paddle, the choices were still surprisingly limited.
Whenever we went looking for a fresh overgrip, the options always seemed to be the same: black, white and maybe pink.
We felt there was an opportunity to do something different.
One of the things we love most about pickleball is how fun and welcoming it is for players of all ages and ability levels. We believe choosing your colours, personalising your paddle and making it your own should be part of that fun.
That simple idea became the foundation for Choice Pickleball.
We wanted to create an Australian pickleball brand that gave players more colours, more options and more ways to make their equipment their own without compromising on performance.

Where We Started
We decided to begin with one of the most frequently replaced accessories on a player's paddle, the overgrip.
But we didn't want to simply find a grip, put our logo on it and call it Choice.
We sourced and tested over 200 overgrips from manufacturers around the world. We compared different levels of tackiness, sweat absorption, comfort, thickness, durability and overall feel.
Some were good. Others weren't even close to what we were looking for.
After months of testing, we eventually narrowed them down to two grips that offered distinctly different performance feels.
Precision Overgrips deliver a tacky, sweat absorbing and durable grip with a thinner feel in hand. They're designed for players who prefer a closer connection to their paddle while maintaining a secure and consistent grip.
Elite Performance Overgrips take tack and comfort to another level. With an ultra-tacky surface, excellent sweat absorption and a signature cushioned feel. Designed for players who want maximum confidence in their grip.
Of course, both ranges had to deliver on the idea that inspired Choice in the first place.
With a huge range of colours and mixed packs, players have the freedom to choose a grip that suits both their game and their style.

From an Idea to Reality
What started as a simple conversation about something we felt was missing from the Australian pickleball market slowly became something real.
Months went into researching products, testing samples and finding the right manufacturers. Slowly, what started as an idea began to turn into something real.
We've learnt a lot throughout the process. Seeing Choice products finally make their way into the hands of players and clubs across Australia has made the journey worth it.
The support and feedback we've received so far has been incredible.
But this is only the beginning.

What's Next for Choice?
Overgrips are our starting point, not our end goal.
As Choice grows, we want to continue introducing new accessories, colours and customisation options that give players more freedom to make their equipment their own.
Our goal is simple.
Give pickleball players across Australia and New Zealand more choice without compromising on performance.
From picking up a pickleball paddle for the first time in January 2025 to launching an Australian pickleball brand of my own, it has been an incredible journey.
We're only getting started.
